Guardian Gaming series: Mega Drive v SNES

September 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

For one night only, come to the Guardian HQ in London and let’s pit Sonic against Mario, Phantasy Star against Chrono Trigger and, of course, Mohawk and Headphone Jack v Toejam and Earl.

Join us, take sides, say your piece, or just sit back and watch 30 years of frustration and antagonism spill out live on stage.

The debate will be moderated by Jordan Erica Webber – Guardian contributor, the Gadget Show’s resident gaming expert, and co-author of Ten Things Video Games Can Teach You – who is roughly the same age as the consoles in question.

Our panellists are: Violet Berlin, one of television’s first video game reviewers who co-presented Bad Influence! in the early 90s; Shahid Kamal Ahmad, an industry veteran who worked with both the Mega Drive and SNES; Kev Bayliss, a senior video game artist who worked at Rare for nearly 20 years; and Keza MacDonald, long-time writer on video games and editor of Kotaku UK.
